FOURTH OF JULY: Community Update

In coordination with our first responders and community partners, the difficult decision has been made to postpone the 2026 Fourth of July Parade. With emergency resources focused on the Willow Fire response, postponing the parade allows our first responders to remain focused on protecting our community.

While our plans have changed, our community spirit hasn’t!

Instead, we’re inviting everyone to join us for Lovin’ on Leadville: Locals Lunch on Saturday, July 4, from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at The Rock Lot (across from the 6th Street Gym).

Enjoy lunch on us with vouchers redeemable at participating local restaurants, gather with friends and neighbors, write thank-you notes for our first responders, and discover other ways to support local businesses throughout the day.

This Fourth of July, let’s celebrate what makes Leadville and Lake County so special – the way we come together, support one another, and show up for our local business community. We hope you’ll join us!

About Us

The mission of the Leadville Main Street Program is to strengthen our community through historic preservation, economic growth, beautification, and the activation of public spaces to support a thriving downtown. As an Accredited Colorado Main Street Program, we are recognized as one of 26 Colorado communities that share a commitment to preserve and promote our historic downtowns.

Leadville is a distinct, historic community situated at 10,200 feet. Our rural and rugged location gives us exciting strengths and poses unique challenges. The Main Street program is designed to highlight our strengths and evaluate our challenges so that we can overcome them together to develop and support a thriving Main Street.

An active downtown provides economic opportunity for residents, access to goods, resources, recreation, and entertainment for locals and visitors. In addition, an active Main Street that preserves the character and history of the town, will develop a sense of connection and place for the whole community.

We are dedicated to unlocking Leadville’s full potential by preserving Harrison Ave, fostering community engagement, and ensuring its economic vitality.
